**This will be a one-day event to collect 4 Hours of CFE’s and CLE’s**

Courses offered:

Georgia BMPs – Presenter: Ritchie Mullen/Water Quality Specialist/GA Forestry Commission

This course includes updates on the 2025 BMP Survey vs 2023 BMP Survey.  It also includes information on General Forestry BMP’s and the BMP Assurance Exam Field Checklist such as roads, streamside management zones, stream and wetland crossings, timber harvesting, and servicing of equipment and trash.  Development Rules vs Forestry Rules, Georgia Water Reservoir/Watershed Laws, Georgia Law River Corridor Protection Act, prevention and protection from lawsuits with neighbors, and stream crossing ideas will also be covered.

Forestry Connections within Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) – Presenter: Kaneisha Miller/Georgia Northeast Outreach Coordinator/U.S. Department of Agriculture

This course will discuss how the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s NRCS conserves forest land with their financial assistance program and guides landowners through technical assistance.  The NRCS motto of “Helping People, Help the Land” will be elaborated on and detail will be given on how NRCS strives on collecting accurate data and partnering with adequate natural resource divisions to achieve this goal.

Keeping Your Diesel Running: Practical Tips for Loggers and Foresters – Presenter: Charles Dawson/Program Chair-Diesel Technology/Athens Technical College

This course will discuss how modern diesel engines work, preventive maintenance in the woods, common problems and troubleshooting, after-treatment systems, regulations, and what’s coming next in relation to EPA standards and hybrid/electric equipment.  There will be a time for harvesters and foresters to share real-world problems and get tips from the instructor.
